Hiya! Today I get to share with you the easiest way ever of making a stamped plaid background (the idea of which I can’t take credit for, but I’m excited I get to show you!)
You can see how this is done in the video below.
If you are having problems viewing this video, please try watching it HERE on YouTube.
To start with, you ink up the Candy Stripe Bold Prints background in one color, and stamp. Then repeat that process with your second color choice, stamping the print with the stripes going the opposite direction from the stripes in the first impression. And oila! The most perfectly aligned stamped plaid background! That’s really all there is to it!
Here’s how I used this fun print…
Here’s a second card, a little more toned down, and also a little less technique-intensive, as there is no partial die cutting required on this one.
For both cards, I used the adorable as the focal point, then added the snow drift using some Charcoal ink. To add a little extra detail, I used the Winter Scene stamp set and coordinating dies to die cut some trees from vellum. Then I stamped some snow using a glue pad, and covered that with glitter.
That’s it! This background stamp is so versatile – you could use it to make some cheery plaid for St. Patrick’s day, or a perfect background for those tough-to-make masculine cards!
