I often give gift cards to my friends and family and I always look for beautiful ways to present them. In today’s blog post I would like to share a card that features simple to make hidden gift card pocket. Keep in mind I am sharing a Christmas card, but this idea and technique works for other holidays and occasions, all you need to do – is switch up the sentiment and a background.
To learn how to make this card please watch video tutorial below:

I am also showing how to layer or overlap embossing powder to create a beautiful background for a card. We are all used to layering inks, but rarely layer embossing powder. I used two colors of powder – White Satin Pearl and White to create a frosty heat embossed background for my card. I used images from several stamp sets – Vintage Christmas Post and Vintage Christmas Wishes to do my heat embossing. I picked light blue cardstock, but you can also use other Holiday colors such as red or green to have great results.
My sentiment came from another stamp set, Holiday Messages and Tags. I also used a coordinating die from this set to create a partial negative die cut opening for the fingers to pull the gift card out of the card. My sentiment was heat embossed in Brass embossing powder onto white cardstock and was foam mounted onto the panel.
This type of a gift card holder card is easy to make and doesn’t require any additional supplies.
Have fun stamping!
