Video: Generation Stamping

Hello! Today I’m playing along with the current Makeover challenge, and sharing a video in which I show off a fun technique called generation stamping. Generation stamping works perfectly with nature scenes, and so the leaf stamp from Kelly's Holiday Planner Icons really gets to shine in my “made-over” card. You can see how I used this technique in the video below:

Here’s my original card, previously shared on my blog.

To set the scene for the cute fox, I did some generation stamping. In generation stamping, you ink up your stamp like normal, but instead of stopping at the first impression you get, you keep on stamping until you can get no more impressions from the first inking. This gives you a lighter look on each consecutive impression, so not only is it perfect for fall scenes like this, but it is also a great way to stretch the possibilities for your inks!

I started the card out with a purple cardstock to spice up the typical fall color combo, and stamped it using the beautiful Branches Bold Prints and Passion Flower ink to get a tone-on-tone look.

To finish off the scene, I stamped the sentiment from the Color Layering Fall Trees set using the bronze color from the Metallic Hues set. Some glitter tape underneath the panel and a few pretty gems top off the card.

Thanks for stopping in today and God bless!
