Hi, everyone! It’s Kelly here to share a few cards using some of the woodblock stamps that I designed in the 2015 Spring Catalog. I absolutely love the look of handwritten words combined with fonts to create sentiments. Here’s a look at the five that are featured in the catalog (these are now shipping to stores!)
The first card uses the Thankful message paired with some watercolored hearts.
I think the one thing that brings this card together is the overlapping of the sentiment onto one of the hearts. With some careful planning and the use of a stamp positioning tool, it was very easy to do!
To create the watercolored hearts, I used Distress inks to paint a rainbow of color and then die cut the hearts so each one had a nice variation of color.
My next card uses the Absolutely Awesome stamp…which might be my favorite out of the five! There are so many people I could send this card to. There is no holiday or special occasion needed to send a card like this…just surprise someone special and tell them how awesome they are!
Again, I pulled out my Distress inks to do some watercoloring. Once all the pieces were dry I figured out the arrangement I would need to fit the sentiment and used a stamp positioning tool to get it just perfect.
The hexagons are from the Geometric Shapes die set and I love the way that they fit together like a puzzle to create a solid surface to stamp on.
So, I’d love to hear if you like stamping with these types of sentiments as much as I do! And are there any sentiments you would like to be made into a stamp? Leave a comment and you just never know what might come out in the future! ;)
Have a great day!
