I give out quite a few gift cards during the holidays and I thought it would be fun to jazz up the presentation a bit by creating a tri-fold gift card holder. It may not be as fun as tearing open a wrapped gift, but opening a card like this is sure to bring a smile to the recipient’s face.
I started out with 10″ x 5 1/2″ piece of kraft cardstock and scored folding lines at 3 3/8″ and 6 3/4″. On the outside two flaps, I cut diagonal lines, so that when the card is shut, all three panels of the card are visible. I covered the middle panel with a piece of pool cardstock and the right side panel with green cardstock.
As you can see when the card is opened, there is a perfect spot for a gift card! A couple of mini glue dots will do the trick to keep the gift card in place.
And then when the card is open all the way, you can see the Merry + Bright heat embossed sentiment. There is also plenty of room to write a message!
I have to admit I may have had way too much fun creating the adorable snow jar using the Winter Scene clear stamp set. The images work so well together and fit perfectly to create a winter scene. I heat embossed all images onto vellum and then die-cut the jar using the coordinating DI083 Jar Frame Cut.
And for a little background interest I stamped the CG681 Candy Stripe Bold Prints with VersaMark ink. I think the diagonal lines of the stamp coordinate perfectly with the diagonal lines created by the tri-fold.
So, if you’re giving gift cards this holiday season, I encourage you to make the presentation special. They will feel like the card itself is part of the gift!
