Mad about Metallics with Social Club

Hello and welcome to Social Club. Our current contest is all about holiday cards, and one of the categories is Mad About Metallics. This category is super fun for Christmas – gold and silver are classic for the season, and sequins and glitter are right on trend at the moment. So, today we thought we would inspire you with a selection of three older holiday cards that we found in our Flickr pool, each featuring beautiful metallic elements of some kind.

First up today is Stripey Fish (Jean M). Jean has combined beautiful silver embossing on her snowflake and stamped sentiment with our gorgeous Smooth Gemstones. We think her card is simply breathtaking.

Next, a fun card in non traditional Christmas colours by GPA Handmade. Our Merry Christmas Tree has been heat embossed in silver then coloured with distress inks. The addition of metallic sequins makes for a very festive and sparkly card.

And finally, Virginia L, with this fabulous set of one layer cards featuring our Newspaper Skyline stamp. The metallic detailing is subtle and beautiful, a definite mastery of less is more.

Aren’t these cards beautiful? Thank you for sharing them with us all. Today’s Social Club prize is our Retro Holiday digikit:

Winners, please send an email to and we will send you your digit. We hope you enjoy playing with it.

We hope we have inspired you to try out some metallic elements on your cards. Be sure to upload any creations on our contest page to be in with a chance of wining one of five fabulous $40 Hero Arts shopping sprees.

Happy stamping,
