Hello there, it’s Kelly Purkey here today to share a card I put together using the new Clearly Kelly holiday products. I don’t like to play favorites, but I am getting mighty attached to the DC162 Kelly’s Yeti Stamp&Cut set from the new collection. He’s just too cute! If you’re not familiar with what a yeti is, he’s like the abominable snowman from the movie Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Yetis and abominable snowmen have started popping up on different holiday products lately and I’m so happy to have my own little guy to wish people happy holidays.
I started with some patterned paper as the background for my card and stamped on trees using the Noel stamp set. Instead of stamping off onto a piece of scrap paper, I stamped a second time directly onto the card so that it would give me a lighter version of the trees. It’s a great way to layer on images. I chose a patterned paper that had dots on the background then added in little snowflakes from the Yeti set using the Pink to Red Ombré ink pad.
I wanted to give my friend Yeti a bit of dimension so I ended up stamping him twice then fussy cut off one head to add onto the first one with some foam adhesive. It makes his smiling face pop right off the card. I also stamped a heart from from the set and added that with foam adhesive as well.
One more thing added to the background were some mountains cut out of patterned paper for him to stand out. I also made sure to trim out two layers of these so that one could be added with foam adhesive and pop off the card as well. The final step was the word bubble and greeting. Did you know that all of the phrases on the Yeti set can fit into the word bubble? Yeti can send a variety of messages to friends around the world!
