Hi, everyone! One of my favorite times of the year is when the leaves on the trees change to gorgeous shades of reds, oranges, and yellows. So with that inspiration, I created this card using the Color Layering Fall Trees clear set.
I started out by taping a panel of watercolor cardstock down to my work surface. Then I used some Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to create a grassy hill and pale blue sky. Next, I stamped the tree trunks using AF214 Cup-o-Joe Mid-tone Shadow ink, making sure that some of the leaves would overlap the outer border.
In the CL886 Color Layering Fall Trees set, there are five different splatter patterns to create the leaves on the trees. I used various shades of Hero Arts Mid-Tone Shadow Inks to build up my colorful fall trees. You can totally change the look of a tree just by stamping more or less “leaves”!
I didn’t want to detract from the scene with a large sentiment, so I tucked a small message from the DC151 Hello Stamp & Cut right above the trees. And finally, I tied some yellow string around the bottom of the panel and popped it up on a colored card base.
I’m anxious to play with this set some more and see if I can make trees for all the seasons. I’m thinking a winter scene with white embossing would be so fun!
Super pretty fall card!
Such a lovely fall card, Kelly! I love the variation in the color of the leaves!

This stamp set is quickly becoming one of my favorite recent purchases. I hope Hero Arts comes out with more “layering” sets in the future! Love this card.

Kelly, Autumn is my favorite time of year because of the colors and I think you’ve captured that beautifully with this card.
Love the card – I have the set and can’t wait to play with it – just need to find some time!
Great card, I love fall, maybe it’s because I have an October birthday?
Just love your trio of layered trees, Kelly!
what a beautiful card. I love the way you layered the leaves on the trees.
I really miss the old website. Was this a cost saving measure? This is so disappointing. I loved looking at all the other things on the old site.
Hi genie! Thank you for your comment. We are sorry to hear you are disappointed. What in particular are you missing from the old site? We have reorganized in order to make the site easier to navigate and will continue to provide stamping inspiration every weekday on the blog. We hope you enjoy it and always welcome your feedback!
Yes I miss the old website as well.

LOVE this autumn card! I am sorry to say I do NOT love the new hero arts site! I had SO many of the card samples in my ‘favorites’, now they are gone. ????
Oh my, I believe is just squealed at how beautiful this is! How incredibly unique and colorful and so very Autumnal! We don’t get much “Fall” here in South Florida but this card sure gives me the warm fuzzies like Fall would! Thank you for this inspiringly beautiful card ♥
This is the right website for everyone who wants to understand this topic.
You realize a whole lot its almost tough to argue with you (not that I personally will need
to…HaHa). You certainly put a brand new spin on a topic which has been discussed for many years.
