I’ve kept an annual planner for many years. Not only does my planner help me organize my daily work and monthly activities, but I love that it becomes a journal of my past year. When I saw the new collection of Clearly Kelly planner stamps and inks, I was thrilled! I’ve used a variety of these new supplies to create meaningful and fun entries on my monthly and weekly calendars.
For each month, I like to choose a set of three or four colors that I use throughout the month to decorate my planner. The Clearly Kelly ink cube packs make this so easy! For October, I used AF324 Kelly’s Outdoor Inks, a set of vibrant, autumn colors. Using DC173 Kelly’s Planner Banners set, and a variety of sentiments and icons from the other Clearly Kelly planner stamp sets, I made lots of colorful banners for my month-at-a-glance calendar. These banners are perfect for flagging the significant events of each month, like birthdays, holidays, and vacations.
When I prepare my monthly calendar, I like to cover any calendar boxes that are not actual days of the month. So, after cutting a collection of banners from a single piece of cardstock, I used the cut cardstock as a stencil. Then, I stamped a collage of Clearly Kelly planner sentiments across the pattern. Just for fun, I also made a bookmark by adhering two stamped banners to a paper clip tied with a bow.
I covered the printed design that appeared at the top of another calendar page by repeatedly stamping the “Make it a Good Day” sentiment from CL920 Kelly’s Work Planner set using the same four ink colors. I used banners to mark areas on the calendar for recording monthly goals and books that I hope to read.
For my week-at-a-glance calendar, I like to stamp my to-do items and reminders directly on the page. It’s quick, easy, and adds tons of color and fun! One of my favorite tricks is to use the back of a rectangular stamp to create a block of solid color on the calendar, and then stamp the sentiment over the inked block. This is a quick way to highlight and color-code reminders. Stamping blank lines for recording specific details about weekly events is another great way to organize calendar information beautifully.
